Xinjiang Study Tour

Recently, our school, along with LaSalle College, St. Paul's Secondary School, and Pui Tak Canossian College, co-organized an 8-day study tour to Xinjiang. Over 80 students participated in this joint-school program.

On the first few days of our journey, we visited local enterprises, such as Guangzhou Automobile Group, Ruize Textile Co., Ltd., the Xinjiang Free Trade Zone, and the Urumqi International Land Port Area. This allowed us to better understand Xinjiang's economic development direction and positioning within our nation.

Furthermore, we visited the Changji No. 2 Middle School in Urumqi, where we had the chance to exchange learning experiences with local students. Beyond just visiting the school, we also toured various scenic spots, including Tianshan Tianchi, the Fire Mountain, Nalati Grassland, and the Grape Valley in Turpan. As we marveled at Xinjiang's breathtaking landscapes, we were profoundly captivated by the region's magnificent natural beauty.

The highlight of our school visit was the chance to share our own school and food traditions with the local students. We got the opportunity to sample the local produce and culinary delights of Xinjiang. We were treated to fresh, delectable watermelons and melons - fruits that were wonderfully sweet and in-season. This chance to immerse ourselves in the local food culture, and engage in lively conversations with the students about the regional specialties, proved to be a memorable and enriching cross-cultural exchange for all of us.
