An immersive exploration of the rich cultural tapestry of Hangzhou, China

Embarking on a cultural learning tour to Hangzhou, China, we experienced an enchanting journey through time, where ancient traditions seamlessly blend with modern marvels, interwoven between this prospering capital of the Zhejiang Province.
A visit to Hangzhou’s West Lake set the tone for the trip, as we took a leisurely stroll through its 10 distinct scenes. This UNESCO World Heritage site has been a source of inspiration for poets and artists for centuries, and has mesmerised us with its serene waters, perfectly reflective of the lush greenery and ancient bridges it’s surrounded by. Similar visits to scenic areas in Hangzhou were peppered throughout our itinerary, with visits to Wuzhenxizha, Xixi Wetland park and more.
Following in the footsteps of Chinese authors, we entered Lu Xun’s hometown, where his former residence and well-known literary garden stand, carefully restored and protected since 1953. The exchange activities held at Gaoqiao Junior Middle School were equally as enriching, as we had a glimpse of how they integrated technology within its classrooms, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence.
Our visit to Hangzhou presents an immersive experience that captures the heart of the city’s natural beauty and vibrant traditions. It has left an indelible impression on our minds, preserving the memories of this incredible journey.
