2018-2019 F1 Macau
Our form 1 students got the chance to visit Macau, otherwise known as “the mother of Religious Missions in Asia”. Through visiting different churches in Macau, such as the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, our students learnt more about the stories of different saints. Our students also visited different heritages of Macau, like the ruins of St. Paul’s, deepening their understanding on the history of Macau and enriching their knowledge on cultural ancestry.
2018-2019 F2 Zhongshan and Dongguan, China
Our form 2 students had the opportunity to visit Dongguan and Zhongshan in China. Zhongshan is a city with huge historic significance as it was the birthplace of Sun Zhongshan, the leading figure in the Chinese Revolution. Our students were given the chance to see Sun Zhongshan’s home, which showcased the lives and living environment of the working class in the late Qing dynasty.
This enabled students to better understand the upbringing of the Chinese Revolutionist, as well as the history and social lives of the Chinese.
2018-2019 F3 Shunde, Guangdong China
Our form 3 students visited Shunde in Guangdong China. Our students had the opportunity to teach English to the children there – they worked in teams and were each responsible for different parts of the lessons. This allowed them to learn more about time management and lesson planning.
Through interaction with schoolmates and the children in Shunde, students developed their teamwork and communication skills, while also building up their confidence.
2018-2019 F4 Taiwan
Our form 4 students had the opportunity to visit Taiwan. Students were taken to a recycling facility used in Taiwan to gain a deeper understanding of how the Taiwanese dealt with their trash. This served as an eye opener for our students, seeing as in Taiwan the government requires people to hand-deliver their trash to the trucks, as opposed to simply tossing their garbage out into a dumpster.
