18th AFS Intercultural Fair 2025
The 18th AFS Intercultural Fair was held on 16 November 2024 at AD & FD POHL Leung Sing Tak College for students to learn about foreign cultures across the globe. This year, 40 of our schoolmates, including Cultural Ambassadors, joined the event.
The Intercultural Fair featured AFS exchange students from countries around the world, like Italy, Colombia, Turkey, France, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland. During the fair, exuberant booths were hosted by the exchange students to share their home town in a fun and playful way. Our schoolmates all had a memorable and exciting time there, allowing themselves to immerse themselves in the diversity of cultures through this meaningful interaction with the exchange students!
As a participant, I have visited the Turkey, Colombia, Italy and Germany booths. The booths organised by Turkish students were a delightful experience, as they shared insights about their rich culture and hometowns. I learned about Italy from its students, who demonstrated unique hand signs while encouraging us to share our thoughts on their beautiful country. The German students hosted an engaging quiz session that tested our knowledge and sparked lively conversations. Finally, the Colombian students brought energy to the event by teaching us their traditional dance, showcasing the vibrant spirit of their culture. Each booth offered a unique glimpse into diverse traditions, fostering my deeper understanding and appreciation of these countries.
