07/09/23 Cultural Ambassadors Experiential Team Building Activity

The Cultural Ambassador Experiential Team Building activity was held on 7 September, aiming to sharpen the leadership skills of our new cultural ambassadors. Through a fresh wandering experience, the 17 ambassadors led themselves on a tour to Lei Yu Mun fishing village, exploring the cultural depths of the local community. Without the use of maps, they had to discuss and plan their routes covering checkpoints and scenic spots like the Village museum, the Wishing Tree, the Tin Hau Temple and the quarry.

With the help of Weflow instructors, students navigated through the busy village filled with lively seafood stalls, vibrant graffiti works, and traditional snacks. At the village museum, they learnt about the historical significance of Lei Yu Mun’s abandoned quarries. They also interviewed friendly villagers and shopkeepers, who offered them delicious local delicacies such as phoenix cookies and pork floss egg rolls.

The trip exposed our students to the villagers’ simple and slow-paced lifestyles, allowing them to experience a unique perspective of Hong Kong’s cityscape. As they reflected on their journey, the students have undoubtedly honed better teamwork and collaboration skills. Most importantly, they have become effective activity leaders, which are essential to their roles as cultural ambassadors in designing and organising exchange and cultural activities in our school.
